Cancellation:

Hi Everybody,

As many of you may have heard, the Governor has asked that we take part in mitigation and all non-essential businesses be closed for a period of two weeks. He has also asked that any assemblies of ten persons or more be cancelled. The instructions for churches and clergy are not so clear; however, we do fall under the umbrella of 10 or more persons meeting together. I have received a recommendation from Dr. Bowser suggesting that all churches suspend public worship for the next two weeks.

After consulting with our board, I am announcing that we will not hold any public services for the next two weeks including March 18th – 31st. However, small groups of less than ten may meet at the discretion of those involved. If you have questions regarding any particular group please ask.

In the meantime, I am continuing to prepare messages for each week. I will be posting them on our website. My hope is to have them online before each Sunday so we are able to continue to worship as a congregation in separate locations. I will make available cd’s and dvd’s of these messages for those who do not have internet capabilities. Please contact myself (814) 977-0318 or the church office 839-2543 to let us know you desire a disk and I will make every effort to get them to you before Sunday of each week.

My prayer is that you are doing well and staying safe in these days. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other needs during this time.

Thank You

Pastor Kevin

Correction to This Morning’s Prayer Request

Hello Everybody,

I have a correction to the prayer request this morning for Marie’s Sister-in-laws family. It was Patricia Whetstone who had passed away not Betty. I believe the rest of the information is correct. I do apologize for my mistake. Please keep the family of Patricia Whetstone in your prayers as they mourn her passing.

Thank You

Pastor Kevin.

Prayer Request:

I have a few prayer requests to pass along

First Penny asked that we pray for a friend of Ron’s son named Caleb Walter. Caleb is 24 years old and was admitted to Pittsburgh Hospital with a collapsed lung. Because the Hospital is on lockdown, his mother is at a hotel, waiting for word on his condition. We ask that you pray for his healing, and also for his family who is worried and unable to be with him during this time.

I also received a prayer request from Marie Wentz, for her sister-in-law’s (Betty Whetstone) family. Betty passed away yesterday after an extended illness. We ask that you pray for Betty’s husband, Rodney Whetstone; and daughter Jody, as well as the rest of her extended family. Pray that they would find comfort as they mourn, peace as they gather together, and joy in the days to come.

Also I am asking that you continue to remember our leadership locally, statewide, and across our country as they try to bring calm amidst the chaos that is rising due to this virus in our midst. Pray for those who are and will suffer; as well as, comfort as we wait on the Lord to provide.

Thank You,

Pastor Kevin.

COVID-19 Update:

I know we have been hearing many things regarding COVID19. I have received recommendations from our General Superintendents and our District Superintendent. We are all asked to use sound judgment during this time.

We will continue to hold our regular services. Please refrain from attending if you have a weakened immune system, any signs of illness, or have been exposed to anybody with signs of illness. Offerings will be collected via an offering march, instead of passing the offering plates. Hugs and handshakes should be avoided. Hand sanitizer has been made available in the foyer for your use.

If you are unable to attend, the sermon will be available to you on our website Monday afternoon following the service or by CD. Please contact Pastor Kevin to request a disk or instructions to access the website and he will get back with you as quickly as possible.

If you have any other needs during this time please feel free to contact me. I realize that this is a lot, but in this time, I ask you to pray for our leadership. I also ask that you pray for those who have suffered during this outbreak and those who have lost loved ones during this time.

Thank You,
Pastor Kevin
