HI Everybody

I received a prayer request from Lynn for her friend Stephanie’s mother. This woman’s hip replacement went bad and a serious infection ensued. Surgeons removed a part of the prosthetic and cleaned as much infected material as possible. Yesterday when they tried to move her the prosthetic dislocated putting her in excruciating pain. We are asking that you pray for the woman, pray that the pain would be controlled, pray that the infection would be removed, and pray for the Lord to heal her body. Also pray for the medical staff as they work to put everything back into place, remove the infection, and restore this prosthetic. Pray that all involved would find success and healing and the Lord would be given the glory for how he has worked in this situation.

Hi Everybody

I received a couple of prayer requests from Marie Wentz. First an updte on her brother in law Rodney Whetstone, he was running a fever of 102 and they were giving him antibiotics in order to treat the temperature. Pray that the fever will come down and Rodney would continue to heal and make a full recovery.

Next was for her cousin, Meghann’s husband, Tom Miller. Tom had a biopsy recently, and they are waiting for the results. Pray that the situation he is being tested for is not cancerous and easily treated. Pray also that the symptoms will go away and Tom would return to good health.

Hi Everybody

I received a prayer request from Chris Imler for her brother David. David was taken to the hospital with difficulty breathing. He was then transferred from the Tyrone hospital to the Nason Hospital where he will receive a heart cath sometime later today. We ask that you keep David in your prayers, praying that the Lord would be by his side. Pray that the medical staff is able to identify what his issue is and treat it in the best possible manner; also, pray that the family would be comforted during this time and all would find relief in the days to come.

HI Everybody

I have a couple of prayer requests to pass along. First, Marie Wentz asked that we lift up her brother in law Rodney Whetstone in prayer. He was in a horseback riding accident Sunday and was flown to the hospital where they had him on a respirator. Pray the Lord would touch his body and he is able to recover from his injuries.  Pray also for his family in this time.

I Also received a prayer request for Ronna Harter who was in a car accident. Ronna is 6 months pregnant and her 3-year-old son was with her. At this time her son is ok and the baby is ok but they think Ronna suffered a concussion and has a lot of neck pain. Pray that the Lord would intervene in Ronna’s case, that she will be cleared of any serious injuries. Pray that she also will be able to make a full recovery and come home as soon as possible.

For the next few weeks, we will be doing a study on Sunday Mornings called

 “A People of Grace.” Books are in the Foyer.

Craft Night is Thursday August 17 at 6:30pm.

ATTENTION NYI: We are remodeling the TEEN Room. We will be working on Saturday August 26 beginning at 8am. 

There is a sign up sheet in the Foyer for the Kids Slinky Action Zone Trip on Saturday August 19 at 1pm. Permission forms are required, so if you are bringing a friend, they will need to fill out a form and have it back to the church by THIS Wednesday August 16. Any questions, please speak with Adena.

There are envelopes in the Foyer for Our Dollar Drop. Please place $1 bills inside, DO NOT seal your envelope, and then place it in the offering plate. You do not need a separate envelope for every $1. Please have your envelopes turned in by THIS Wednesday August 16.

If you would like to help with the Dollar Drop, please be at the church at 10:45am NEXT Saturday August 19. 

Promotion Sunday has been moved to September 10.

Petersburg Church of the Nazarene is planning to host a Prayer Retreat September 29-October 01. There will be more information when we receive it.
